The roles of advance practice nurses have continuously changed in the US with the main cause being the rise in the number of patients in the healthcare sector. Four APN Roles

The four APN roles are the clinical nurse specialist, the certified nurse-midwife, the certified nurse practitioner, and the certified registered nurse anesthetists. Clinical nurse specialist

The clinical nurse specialists are registered nurses who have had advanced knowledge in the process of provision of care and hence they are specialized.
